Day 73

Today was the final day of fiesta. The weather held out for the parade, the feast, the rides, and the greasy pole (my favorite event to watch in horror as the guys slipe and slide all the way to the end to capture that flag). A crazy event indeed...

Day 72

The fiesta was fun... and Jolie won this on her very own! I didn't think she would be able to pop any balloons, let alone 2 in a row... but she did... and was so proud when she held her prize!

Day 71

The rain postponed yet another fun day for us kids at the fiesta. So instead we gathered and feasted with good friends, and I was kind enough that I...

Day 70

The weather did not hold up for our fun plans tonite...

no fiesta fun...
no rides...
no sunshine....

All of it washed down the drain!

But the sun will come out tomorrow
(hopefully)

And the fiesta will go on!

Day 69

Let the Fiesta Begin!

Day 68

The beauty of a rainbow...

Catching one falling on a lighthouse... priceless.
I squealed, and made Jim pull over as we drove home on the boulevard. Not the best capture, but the best that I could manage to figure out before the sunset and the rainbow faded away.

Day 67

A rainy dreary day... so I took a picture of my fireplace mantel decor...
What will I ever do in the dead of winter?!

Sunday, June 22, 2008

Day 66

Today was our last day with The Pike's... what a great vacation, not only for them but for us too. We spent a fun day in Rockport, then cruised around into Annisquam Harbor where I spotted these off a dock. Loved the colors, angles of the boats, and the front one named "Mellon".

Day 65

Diva in the Sunset...

Day 64

What a foggy fantastic friday! The sun was out, then the fog rolled in. I have never quite seen fog roll in as it did today, blanketing the beach and taking over the spectacular view... with its own spectacularness...

After the fog took over, the sun came back out and our fun continued all day long.

Life is good, enjoying it all with friends at the beach! :)

Crazy Sunny Happy Daisies...

Day 62

Amy & I met in Danvers for lunch - yum & fun! I took this pic and then realized it kinda signifies me and my growth... Because of Amy, I am slowly growing, and climbing only up from here! I hope to continue to learn and grow, and maybe one day be right up there and be able to say, yes... I am a photographer. BUT for now, I learn, I grow, and I will keep on climbing...

Thanx Amy for a fun and needed lunch out and about! :)

Day 61

Yesterday after work, Jolie & I visited our friends Ilene & Nick. They suck! (and I mean that in a green envious kinda way.) They are renting this house with a pretty bad view...

I especially LOVED this view of their beach finds (shells/sea glass/pottery) on the deck rail... Yeah... did I say they suck? they do!!! LOL - just teasin Nick & Ilene... we will be back soon for smores, kayaking, splashing in the surf and climbing rocks... can't wait! And you know if jolie had her way we'd be having a sleepover tonite! :)

Anyway, Ilene is a musician, and a talented one at that. She has just released her very first kids' cd: Leeny & Steve - BE NICE. I had placed an order for some cd's for my family and some friends, and was thrilled to pick them up.

Now if you know any kid who loves music, and you are sick of the kids kinda music... this cd is a must! Everyone who hears it loves it... it's catchy, fun, different, you learn a thing or three, and well... they're good people, making good music... and I want to spread the word...

So... BE NICE and buy a cd.... and I promise you... you and your kids will not be dissapointed: http://www.leenyandsteve.com

Day 60

A dreary day... a long day. This flower was actually bright and happy, but it didn't suit my mood or the day... so I drearized it in picnik, to make it fit into my day...

This is the original pic straight out of my camera:

Day 59

The making of Jolie's Father's Day card. I asked her why she loved her dad, and together we wrote out just a few of the reasons why:

My Dad is special because...

He gives me hugs xoxo.
He gives me kisses.
He tickles me.
He makes good food.
He makes sand castles with me on the beach.
He takes me to Florida.
He loves me...

I Love You Dad.... Love Jolie.

And Happy Father's Day to my own Dad, who I miss very much, and can't wait to see you next month back home!

Day 58

Flocks On My Rocks...

Day 57

Today is Day 57.

My lucky number is 57... and it happens to fall on an unlucky day... Friday the 13th.
But no bad luck for me today, only a sunny wonderful kinda day!

After work we dropped off the boys at an all ages concert in town, and walked the boulevard... it was a gorgeous night, and I captured a few cool pics along the way...

Reconstructing City Hall...

The Infamous (over photographed) Fishermen's statue...

Walking the 'cut' (Gloucester's cut/draw bridge)...

View from under the 'cut'... (sunset coming down to the left, quite cool colors I captured)...

Day 56

Fried Eggs & Flowers...

These little tiny flocks hang out around my rocks... and the little teeney tiny daisies in the distance almost look like fried eggs. ... pass the bacon please! ;)

Day 55

Tonight we had a picnic dinner on the beach. We splashed in the waves. Made sand castles.
We laughed a lot, we smiled a lot, we relaxed, we unwound...

Even though summer isn't officially here yet, we have welcomed it, and we are ready! Here is to an amazing Summer of 2008!

Jay... here is the original picture, before I used PICNIK and used the CinemaScope effect on it which tints, grains, crops, and adds top & bottom black border to it... then I added a funky font also in Picnik (have I said yet that I love that site? it's way cool and even wayer cool easier to use)... anyway pic is okay this way... but I really liked the effect I did above to change it up a bit:

Day 54

Another long day at work. Once again, I found myself scrambling after dinner with Jolie to try and capture something different. The hot, humid, hazy day led to a pretty amazing sunset. So thankful for where I live, I had the option to drive along the coast until I found this little spectacular sepia sunset screaming at me. I stopped, and captured this little piece of wonderfulness...

Sometimes I need to stop and slow down. Thanks to this Project 365, I am doing that. Through my pictures, I am appreciating even more so how amazing and incredible life truly is. We are so lucky to be.

So just be.... be the best you can be.

Day 53

The Lonely Daisy...

Sunday, June 8, 2008

Day 52

Today we went to the beach in search of yet another picture for my project 365... I searched and searched... but nothing... nothing came close to being jolie...

Bridge to Pebble Beach ~ Rockport, MA

Day 50

School House Rocks! What a cool place to live in. A converted old schoolhouse with incredible lofts. Just love this building, just love our friends who live here! Happy Birthday again Marc! Nanda so glad you like the blue cocktails too! We had a great time hanging with you guys and your great family and friends!

As we left for the night I realized I didn't get my photo for today. I shy away from night photography as I am not sure of what setting to use, and of course had no tripod. But I up'ed the ISO on this, and then played around a bit to make it kinda look artsy... just like you guys, my happy hip friends! CHEERS to cool places & cool friends!

Day 49

In a big beautiful field free to roam wherever... these horses stayed side by side... sharing it almost seemed a pretty loving moment.

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

Day 48

It was a rainy dreary day here today. As I drove home from work, I noticed the rain letting up, and the fog hanging over my town. I decided to swing by the beach and tried to capture some of the fog at Good Harbor Beach.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Day 47

I met Amy for lunch in Danvers Square. We feasted and walked around a bit. It was a lovely warm summerlike day. We both stopped and admired this old Raleigh Colt bicycle. It had a neat worn seat, a bit rusty, a very very cool bike... But what I liked most was its front basket and little companion, hanging on for a free ride!

"Okay. Squirt here will now give you a rundown of proper exiting technique."
~As said by "Crush", from Finding Nemo.

Day 46

And the waves crashing around me
The sand slips out to sea
And the winds that blow remind me
Of what has been and what can never be

I am a lighthouse worn by the weather and the waves
And though I'm empty I still warn the sailors on their way

Lyrics from Nickel Creek, The Lighthouse's Tale

Day 45

A Room With A View?! Um... this is an understatement! What a view. What a room. Salt Island Road... Gloucester, MA. (I do not live here... I just wish I did.)
